Food Packs for Kids
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide high calorie meals to food insecure children in Hillsborough County. We are currently serving 655 children in 10 schools, a county led school program as well as a domestic violence shelter every week!
How you can help
Every week, we need enough food to feed 655 children. This costs about $3 per bag per child and takes A LOT of coordination to make sure that everything is packed and delivered. We currently pack bags on Thursday evening at Hillsborough United Methodist Church from 5:30-8:00 pm.
Our Impact
Since restarting Food Packs for Kids with Mind Over Matter we have impacted the lives of hundreds of children. In September of 2024 we began with 1 school and 26 children. By then end of 2024 we were serving 500 children at 8 schools and a Domestic Violence Shelter.
As of April 1, 2025, we have added another county program making our total 655 bags per week.
